![]() ![]() ![]() Users who take part gain an extra day of service to their account. There is a censorship test that users can run from within the client, this scans for sites that are blocked in the users country/ location, and it can be run once per week. There are also browser extensions Chrome and Firefox. Routers can support the service via manual setup, or you can order a VPN router from the company’s website. IPSec IKEv2 protocol is used on Mac and iOS, with AES 128-bit encryption.ĭevice support covers most major platforms: Windows, Mac and iOS, Android, Linux, Apple TV, and Windows phone. ![]() VPN Unlimited uses the OpenVPN protocol on Windows and Android, with AES 128-bit and AES 256-bit encryption. So, it appears their ‘Stop DNS Leak protection’ feature is somewhat broken. One drawback of this VPN is there is no inclusion of a Kill Switch, and this could be one reason during testing, and we found DNS leaks, Web Traffic (WebRTC) and IPv6 leaks. It is handy to know that there is unlimited VPN bandwidth to use for torrenting. P2P servers are located in Romania, California, Ontario, France, and Luxembourg. Torrenting is allowed, but only on 5 servers, so access could be slow on occasions. Not only do they work with Netflix, but they also work with the BBC iPlayer and Hulu streaming services, which even eludes many top VPN’s. Any changes to text or our final review verdict will be noted at the top of this article. There is good news as VPN Unlimited has servers dedicated and optimised for Netflix access. I wouldn’t recommend VPN Unlimited for anyone looking for maximal privacy and anonymity, but for average day-to-day use, it’s a good choice.Įditor’s Note: Because online services are often iterative, gaining new features and performance improvements over time, this review is subject to change in order to accurately reflect the current state of the service. There are certainly ways to do that without adding too much complexity to the interface-NordVPN is a great example of this. I would, however, like to see KeepSolid add the ability to choose specific servers. The company is fairly forthcoming about who’s running the show (we look for full transparency in VPN services), and the app is pretty great. Its speeds are serviceable and should work well under most circumstances, but our testing shows there are faster VPNs available. Again, there’s currently a lifetime subscription for a better rate than the three-year membership it’ll set you back $120. If you choose to go for 10 devices, then the annual prices goes up to $90, the month-to-month cost is $15, and three years will cost you $150. There’s also a three-year option where you pay $100 upfront, but at the time of this writing, you’re better off with buying KeepSolid’s deal of $80 for a lifetime membership if you want that long of a subscription term. An entire year at five devices will set you back $60 or $10 on a month-to-month basis. The first allows for five devices to use the service simultaneously (apps exist for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS). Keep in mind that VPN speeds can vary greatly based on a variety of factors such as your location, devices, router, and Internet service provider. That’s pretty good and about average for VPNs, though not the fastest we’ve seen. VPN Unlimited’s performance came to about 35 percent of my base speed based on performance in five locations (USA, UK, Germany, Australia, Japan). Navigation is simple enough for novices, and for power users there are a few options such as protocol and server selection. Overall, the app is very easy to use and understand. That’s about all there is to the app itself. That’s not a relevant setting for an iMac, Mac Pro, or even a MacBook for that matter, as VPN Unlimited doesn’t automatically connect on those devices. When a network is set as trusted, the VPN will turn itself off if it’s active. The Settings tab also has an option to set trusted networks such as your home or work. ![]()
